A New Organ to
Sjællands Odde -
Denmark, 12. Apr. 2013
The new
organ was built and installed with
12 voices, which are distributed
among the main division, a swell and
pedal division. With this project
the church exchanged their old,
small, 5 voice Frobenius organ which
was built in 1961.
The facade of the instrument was
shaped by Carsten Lund organbuilder
master, for the right visual rhythm
and functionality of the visible
pipe-row. Interesting fact that the
organ was voiced
(intonated) in 2013
by Ole Willemoes Høyer, who is in
the family line of danish naval
hero Captain
Peter Willemoes who's ship were sunk near to the
shore by three English ships. The captain is
buried in the graveyard of the
church, with a small monument as a
memento of the battle of Sjællands
Odde.
